Checking and backing up your data saving location
We recommend backing up your data regularly to be prepared for unexpected trouble.
Please use a different location on your HDD, external storage such as a USB memory stick, or a cloud service as a backup location.
* The .vroid files that can be edited in VRoid Studio cannot be uploaded to VRoid Hub.
The data you create in VRoid Studio is stored in the following locations.
*.vroid files of the models you created
The "*.vroid" files in the "avatars" folder are the editable data of your models.
▼Windows
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\vroid\avatars
If you are using v0.8.3 or earlier, the *.vroid files may be stored in a different location.
▼Mac
/Users/<ユーザ名>/vroid/avatars/
もしくは
Finderで移動>ホーム>vroid\avatars
Hair presets
The folders in "hair_presets" are the hair preset data.
▼Windows
C:\Users\ユーザー名\AppData\LocalLow\pixiv\VRoidStudio\hair_presets
▼Mac
/Users/<ユーザ名>/Library/Application Support/com.Company.ProductName/hair_presets
* In the Finder on your Mac, choose "Go" > "Go to Folder" > Type the folder’s pathname.
How to recover data
VRoid Studio can only call up and edit the data saved in a specific folder.
To restore your backup data, please re-save the backed up "*.vroid" files and hair presets to the locations listed above.
When you do so, the backup data may overwrite your latest data.
Please save the backup data with a different name or make a separate backup of your latest data before restoring.
You can also reduce the risk of unintended data being overwritten by restoring only the data you need, rather than all the data you backed up.
