How to check and move the avatar data save location
If you are using VRoid Studio v0.8.3 or earlier on Windows and wish to delete the old VRoid Studio installation folder to update to the latest version please check that there is no vroid\avatars folder and avatar data (.vroid) files in the folder.
If there is a "vroid" folder in the VRoid Studio installation folder, please move the data to the following folder.
(If data already exists in the destination folder, please back up the destination folder before proceeding.)
Save location of the avatar files in the Documents folder:C:\Users\%USERNAME%\Documents\vroid\avatars
(If the Documents folder is set to a location other than its standard location, that will be the location of the avatar files.)
The following improvements were made in v0.8.3.
- Fixed a bug that caused models and settings to be saved in AAA\vroid (AAA stands for the name of the directory where you installed VRoid Studio) when the Documents folder is not accessible.
Because of the issue described above, in versions of VRoid Studio prior to v0.8.3 your avatar data is deleted if you delete the VRoid Studio installation folder without migrating the avatar data first.
