The Face Tracking feature allows a model's head, facial expressions, and hand positions to move in sync with your upper body as captured by your camera.
*Captured footage will not be transmitted externally while using this feature.
You can use this feature with your own models as well as any models that allow others to use it (Can others use this model? YES).
How to start the Face Tracking feature
To enable face tracking, click the face icon in the upper right corner of the model page.
*The face icon will not appear on models that do not allow usage by others (Can others use this model? NO).
Available settings
You can access various settings by clicking the gear icon in the upper-right corner of the screen.
If the gear icon or the "<" button do not appear when launching the Face Tracking feature, move your cursor to the top of the screen to make them visible.
- Camera
Select the camera to use for tracking. - Background
Change the background color. - Avatar movement
Choose whether to mirror (flip) the tracked movements horizontally on the model. - Facial Expression
Check “Overwrite facial expressions” to adjust eye movement and gaze settings, as well as configure the base expression.
In “Base expression”, you can modify parameters to adjust how the model's VRM file expressions react to face tracking.
Increasing parameter values will amplify the intensity of expressions on the model.
How to stop the Face Tracking feature
To stop face tracking, click the < icon in the upper left corner of the page.
If camera permissions are disabled…
Face tracking will not work if camera access is turned off.
You must enable camera permissions in your browser settings.
Example: Enabling camera access in Google Chrome
- Click the camera icon on the left side of the address bar.
- Set camera permissions to “Allow”.
- Restart your browser.

- As of February 27th, 2025, face tracking is not available on smartphones.
- Functionality may vary depending on your device and environment.
- Using face tracking may increase CPU/GPU usage, leading to device overheating and high fan speed.
