Case 1: You character can be used freely, but you want credits
On the Usage Conditions settings screen, check "Allow third-party use".
In the section "Select how other users can use this model data", make sure to uncheck "Credits unrequired".
If you do so, other users will be required to credit you (by mentioning your name, etc) when using your character. We advise adding a link to your social media handles (Twitter, pixiv) to make it easier for other users to contact you if they need more information.
Case 2: You don't want your model to be available to other users whatsoever
On the Usage Conditions settings screen, select NO on "Allow third-party use". By selecting this option, the section "Select how other users can use this model data" will be locked.
By forbidding usage by third-parties, the model can only be used by you, the creator. You'll be able to use a character who is only yours on all SDK-connected services.
Case 3: You want to make your model unavailable for commercial use by corporations
On the Usage Conditions settings screen, uncheck "Allow commercial use by corporations". (Mark the other items as you please)
If, for example, you allow third-party use but forbid commercial usage by corporations while setting all other items on YES, corporations will be unable to download your model data and use it for commercial purposes.
Case 4: You want to post a character you created based on another user's model data on VRoid Hub
You can create and publish a character based on another user's character on VRoid Hub if the original character's Terms of Use are as follows.
- Allow third-party usage: YES
- Alterations: YES
For example, if the original character's Terms of Use are as described above, user B can edit user A's character "girl with long black hair" to create a character "girl with long black hair in uniform" and register it on VRoid Hub (see *1 and *2).
*1: Check other conditions as well, including if you need to credit the original character's creator, and follow those conditions.
*2: Whether or not you can allow third parties to use your character depends on the redistribution status of the original character.
Case 5: You want to publish a character you created based on another user's character and allow other users to download it
If you want to create a character (hereafter Model B) based on another user's model data (hereafter Model A) and publish Model B on VRoid Hub for other users to be able to download it, you may do so if Model A's Terms of Use are as follows.
▼ Model A's Terms of Use
- Allow third-party usage: YES
- Alterations: YES
- Redistribution: YES
However, if Model A's Terms of Use states that redistribution is not allowed, you cannot publish Model B on VRoid Hub and other services and allow other people to download it (i.e. set Allow third-party usage as YES).
■ Here are the Terms of Use that you should set for Model B if Model A's Terms of Use states that redistribution is not allowed:
▼ Model A's Terms of Use
- Allow third-party usage: YES
- Alterations: YES
- Redistribution: NO
▼ Terms of Use you should set for Model B
Allow third-party usage: NO
Alterations: YES
Redistribution: NO
Since Model A's Terms of Use states that redistribution is not allowed, you cannot set Allow third-party usage as YES when you publish Model B. When uploading Model B on VRoid Hub, register it as public with Allow third-party usage set as NO or register it as private.
*You can upload model data on VRoid Hub regardless of the status of the redistribution status of the model data. However, we ask that you use VRoid Hub in compliance with the Terms of Use of each model, including the terms described above, and the Terms of Service.
