A: This issue may occur if the necessary shaders are not imported into your Unity project.
If the shader used by your model’s material is missing, the model won’t display correctly.
Models created with VRoid Studio or in VRM format require the MToon shader for proper rendering.
You can access MToon by installing UniVRM into your Unity project.

For VRoid Studio models, if MToon is missing from the project, transparency won’t work, causing black patches around the eyes or parts of the costume to appear black.
Left: Model displayed without MToon (black patches around the eyes)
Right: Model displayed correctly with MToon
If your model looks like the example on the left, install UniVRM and re-import the XAvatar file to resolve the issue.
Similarly, models for VRChat require importing the correct shaders specific to each avatar, costume, or accessory.
If an outfit lacks its required shader, it may appear pink in Unity.
Starting from XWear Package v0.3.1, importing XAvatar files is only possible if the project includes the shaders required for the XAvatar model.
